Tramuntana

Projects focused on contemporary practices and critical thought

Tramuntana is a contemporary art gallery based in Vulpellac (Baix Empordà, Girona), directed by Jordi Sánchez Trullàs and Victoria Di Gregorio. The project is conceived as a space for long-term curatorial work: each exhibition is approached as a complete body of work rather than a selection of individual pieces, and the gallery’s support for the artists it represents extends beyond the exhibition itself to encompass production, documentation, and relationships with collectors and institutions.

The gallery’s selection of artists brings together young, emerging, and established practices, both Spanish and international, united by a shared perspective and a universal outlook. We work with Mediterranean and Latin American artists at different stages of their careers.

This is complemented by a curatorial focus on the world of objects within the decorative arts, with textiles as one of its central strands—finely crafted pieces and practices that enter into dialogue with the visual arts—alongside ceramics and other forms of craftsmanship.

Tramuntana maintains close relationships with collectors, international art advisors, and professionals in the sector through digital platforms, while also participating in international art fairs and markets across several continents. Its approach is rooted in material honesty and a willingness to embrace change, understanding art as a vehicle for research and exploration shared with those who take part in it.

AMUNT

Within Tramuntana there is a second, smaller and more focused space. AMUNT hosts capsule-format solo presentations: one artist, one body of work, for a limited period of time.

The emphasis is not on a complete exhibition, but on a precise fragment. A practice is presented in its most essential form, without additional framing or context. What unfolds in the main gallery is condensed here.

Each capsule is self-contained while also forming part of a sequence. What connects them is not a shared theme, but a shared sense of attention: looking closely at one thing before moving on to the next. The catalogues accompanying each presentation follow the same logic.

They document the work with precision, without overstating it, allowing the material and the process to speak for themselves.
