‘Atròfica 2.0’

Atròfica 2.0 presents the work of Salvadoran artist Óscar López, whose vision transforms the walls of San Salvador’s historic center into a living reflection of urban memory. The exhibition space, transformed into a visual archive, tells us, through polished and overlapping layers of paint, graffiti, signs, marks, and fingerprints, the story of a city transformed by renewal processes that have displaced part of its population and erased a part of its popular identity.

López reclaims these vestiges as marginal heritage and questions which memories disappear when progress imposes order and cleanliness. His work invites us to view the city as a space where history, conflicts, popular culture, and resistance coexist, and offers a universal reflection on collective memory and the consequences of urban transformation.
