With Trash & Beauty, Mark Rox blurs the boundaries between two worlds that seem to stand in complete opposition: luxury and waste. Jewelry, cars, rubbish, and discarded objects become part of the same reflection on the value we assign to material things.

Through his distinctive visual language, built on accumulation and intricate detail, the artist transforms both precious gems and everyday trash into richly captivating compositions. What first attracts the eye through beauty gradually reveals a more ambiguous reality.

In this series, Mark Rox questions a consumer-driven society where today’s most desirable objects often become tomorrow’s waste. The line between the precious and the worthless is ultimately defined by the way we choose to look at them.

Without offering definitive answers, Trash & Beauty invites each viewer to reflect: what truly gives an object its value? Its material, its function… or simply the meaning we choose to give it?
