Passion for art
Galeries d’Art de Catalunya (GAC) is a non-profit association dedicated to the communication, support and promotion of the visual arts in Catalonia.
About us
The association was founded in 1978 and is the first association in the sector in Catalonia and also in Spain. Its objective is to create a positive impact on the ecosystem of the visual arts in Catalonia through the development, support and exposure of its art galleries, spaces and associated organisations, as well as its artists and their different disciplines.
Mission and values
Our mission is to bring the visual arts to the general public and develop projects and actions for our associates through the promotion of their exhibitions, activities and artists, both locally and internationally.
Galeries d’Art de Catalunya also provides a space for dialogue and a collaborative network between different participants, organisations and institutions with shared values. The association wants to contribute in this way to the growth, improvement and development of art galleries and the entire visual arts sector in Catalonia.
Our initiatives include: promotional actions, art days, artistic routes, conferences and round tables, publications … We develop annual and biannual events such as the Catalan Art Week, GAC Art Fair, Art Weekends, Collectors & Gallery Owners Night and the GAC Awards.
We also promote digital initiatives and projects with the aim of improving the current ecosystem. Being part of Galeries d’Art de Catalunya implies the acceptance of values and a code of ethical and professional practices in the relationship between members and their clients, artists, collaborators and in all their commercial activities, and to support the mission of the association.

We want to contribute in this way to the growth, improvement and development of art galleries and the entire visual arts sector in Catalonia.
Our services
Promote initiatives to make the visual arts more accessible to the general public through the communication and circulation of the programmes of our members and collaborators, as well as their activities.
Give support and encouragement to our members in their cultural and commercial tasks, preserving and protecting the ecosystem of visual arts in Catalunya with the aim of excellence, quality and good practices.
A voice in constant contact with public and private institutions and organisations, to send proposals and projects, whilst supporting the needs of our members and collaborators.
Contribute to the creation of a local and international network of organisations and collaborators with shared values and offer a space for dialogue and support.
